At some point in our spiritual journey into the Craft, we've either struggled with or been fascinated by the term "Witch." In this six-part series, we explore the powerful history of Witches and examine the deep cuts made by society to erase us. This workshop is designed to educate, create conversation around and heal this Wound. Krysta will be leading the series, but there will be guest speakers & healers in select workshops. 1.) The History of The Goddess: We have over 60,000 years of proof that we were once a matri-focused global society - we walk through this historical path to better understand where we came from and more importantly, harness the moment where the Goddess was erased. 2.) The Garden of Eden: Taking another look at the Biblical Garden of Eden creation story, we examine the demonization of Eve & all women and discuss the identity of the Serpent. We create healing around this Narrative by exploring other outcomes to the story. 3.) Hollywood & the Witch: Chances are, unless you are a hereditary witch, your first exposure to Witchcraft was the Silver Screen. We look at how it was also a divisive tactic to make sweeping, inaccurate generalizations as well as pit women against each other. 4.) The Grandfathers of the Occult: While we owe the preservation of Witchcraft and its rituals/ practices to the Spiritualist era, the men who brought the occult back into the mainstream also created a toxic environment. We discuss a collection of other prominent figures did more damage than good, while also speaking to the feminine witches & priestesses who evolved from those eras. 5.) The Devil in the Details: Historically, the narrative of Witchcraft has been presumptive that we work with the Devil. We explore this story and the archetype of who it is we're really working with. Clue: It's not who you think! 6.) $1k and 60 days: Thousands of women were murdered during the Witch Hunts generated by the Vatican and Christian churches. We explore the timeline, walk through the lives of women impacted and create healing around this traumatic multi-century event. Witchcraft is still illegal in several states and some countries around the world. While we have made great strides in living in a world that is more free, there are still ways society works to create & enforce modern day witch hunts.
